As our Profol Hair Loss Treatment ranges are applied in similar ways, you will only find reference to Profol Shampoo and Profol Lotion. You will not find specific Profol treatments referred to. This is to avoid causing confusion. You will find all the information about specific Profol Treatments on the 'Which treatment do I need' page. Q  IS PROFOL SAFE?

A  Yes, it is not only safe but completely natural

Q WHAT IS PROFOL SHAMPOO?

A  Profol Shampoo is a natural organic treatment that is designed to boost the blood supply to the scalp.

Q  DOES PROFOL CONTAIN ANY NUTRIENTS TO FEED HAIR ROOTS?

A  Yes.  Profol is a special formulation of natural plant extracts which contain Amino Acids and vitamins that are essential to maintain healthy hair growth and encourage new re-growth.

A  Most patients notice a dramatic reduction in hair fall within days.  However, some take a little longer

Q  I AM ALREADY BALD, IS IT TOO LATE?

A  No, it's never too late for Profol to help you

Q  HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO START GROWING HAIR ON MY BALD HEAD?

A  We would always advise you to be patient. It could take several months and in extreme cases a year or even longer.

Q  CAN NEW HAIR GROWTH HAPPEN WITHIN WEEKS?

A  Yes, many patients report new hair growth within weeks.  However, they are the exception rather than the rule.  You must be prepared to be patient.

Q  WILL MY HAIR ALL GROW BACK AT THE SAME TIME?

A  No, hair does not grow in that way.  First you will notice a few odd hairs will begin to grow - and then a few more and so on, until it gradually thickens.

Q  WHEN MY HAIR HAS RE - GROWN CAN I STOP USING PROFOL?

A  Of course.  But why take the risk of hair loss again?  We recommend that you maintain the treatment with the Profol original range.

Q  HOW OFTEN SHOULD I USE PROFOL SHAMPOO?

A  Daily if possible.

Q  I DON'T SEEM TO GET MUCH LATHER WITH PROFOL SHAMPOO?

A  Since Profol shampoo is made entirely from plant extracts (and not harsh soap or detergents, like other shampoos) you should not expect a high lather, although it is designed to cleanse even the oiliest of scalp conditions.

Q  PROFOL SHAMPOO FEELS VERY HOT ON MY SCALP - IS THIS NORMAL?

A  Yes.  That's because Profol Shampoo is designed to boost the blood supply to your scalp, leaving it feeling warm, slightly sensitive and red where the blood has come to the surface.  The reddening will disappear after about 20 minutes.

Q  PROFOL DIDN'T REDDEN MY SKIN OR FEEL HOT AND TINGLY, DOES THAT MEAN PROFOL ISN'T WORKING ON ME?

A  You can rest assured that Profol will still be working.  It is simply that some people's circulation and skin types respond differently.

Q  WHEN THE SHAMPOO DRIPPED DOWN MY NECK AND BACK, MY SKIN WENT WARM AND RED?

A  Profol Shampoo is designed to bring the blood to the surface on any skin area it comes into contact with.  However, it cannot harm you.  We suggest that you place a towel around you or blot off any excess moisture from your head for the ten minutes that Profol's nutrients are penetrating your scalp.

Q  WILL PROFOL SHAMPOO STING MY EYES?

A  Yes it will, just like any other shampoo, but Profol will do no harm.  Simply rinse your eyes with clear water.

Q  I HAVE ALOPECIA, WILL PROFOL TREATMENTS HELP ME?

A  Yes, Profol is often successful in treating many forms of Alopecia. However, we must stress that a sensible and patient approach to treatment be adopted. Hair takes time to form in the follicle and grows at approximately 1.5cm = ½” per month, so it could be many months before results are visible.

Q  WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PROFOL LOTION AND PROFOL SHAMPOO?

PROFOL Lotion is a highly concentrated formulation of nutrients. The object of using Profol lotion is to help boost the vital blood supply to your scalp, whilst accelerating hair root regeneration as quickly as possible. Profol Lotion should be applied at least once daily for maximum therapeutic results. Please note that unlike Profol shampoo, Profol Lotion will not cleanse the hair and scalp. Profol Lotion is both weightless and non greasy giving extra body to the hair. It can be either rinsed out or left in the hair until the next shampoo.

Profol Shampoo is rich in nutrients. It has a natural organic base that gently cleanses the scalp and ensures it is free from sebum plugs, whilst boosting the vital blood supply to your scalp. Profol Shampoo is essential in creating a healthy environment that will support healthy hair growth. Unlike other shampoo’s Profol can be used daily and will not strip the natural acid mantle from your scalp or hair.

Q   DO I NEED PROFOL LOTION AS WELL AS PROFOL SHAMPOO?

A  Yes, for the most effective and quickest results.  Profol Shampoo and Profol Lotion work together as a powerful twin force to stop hair loss and help promote hair root regeneration.

Q  I SHAMPOO EVERY MORNING WITH PROFOL SHAMPOO. WHEN SHOULD I USE PROFOL LOTION?

A  Every evening. Lightly dampen scalp with water, then spray Profol lotion directly onto the damp scalp from front to crown.  Make sure that you can feel the liquid dampen your scalp.  Run your fingers through from front to back to ensure Profol Lotion has covered your scalp thoroughly.  (After approximately 5 minutes your scalp will start to redden, tingle and feel slightly sensitive).  This may last for approximately 20 minutes.  Profol Lotion can then be left in to give your hair more body, or rinsed out with water if preferred.  Profol Lotion is a different formulation to the shampoo and feels slightly different when applied.

Q  I USE PROFOL SHAMPOO EVERY NIGHT. DO I APPLY THE PROFOL LOTION IN THE MORNING INSTEAD?

A  Yes, use the application method described above

Q  I HAVE BEEN USING PROFOL SHAMPOO AND LOTION FOR JUST OVER A WEEK BUT MY HAIR LOSS AND DANDRUFF SEEMS WORSE THAN EVER.

A  There is nothing to worry about - this is normal for many people and will soon settle down.  Profol treatment is designed to help accelerate hair and scalp regeneration.  This encourages dead and dying hair and skin cells to come away more quickly at the beginning of treatment to make room for new healthy scalp and hair growth.

Q  CAN I APPLY PROFOL LOTION SEVERAL TIMES A DAY?

A  Yes, the more often Profol Lotion is applied between shampoos, the more effective treatment becomes. This is due to the additional nutrients and increased blood flow to the hair follicles, which in turn accelerates hair cell regeneration.

Q  I FIND THAT PROFOL SHAMPOO & LOTION REDDEN MY FOREHEAD AND NECK MUCH MORE THAN MY SCALP.  IS THIS NORMAL?

A  Yes it is.  Most patients find this to be the same

Q  I AM UNABLE TO SHAMPOO WITH PROFOL EVERY DAY. WILL THE TREATMENT STILL HELP ME?

A  Yes, use Profol Lotion at least every morning and night between shampoos, and you will find the treatment just as effective, but take care to use Profol Shampoo at least twice weekly as this prevents the natural oils in the scalp from forming "Sebum Plugs" inside the hair follicle..

Q  I HAVE A GREASY SCALP WITH DANDRUFF AND TERRIBLE IRRITATION, BUT NO HAIR LOSS, SO WHICH SHAMPOO IS BEST?

A  Profol Shampoo used daily will quickly clear the problem.

Q  MY SCALP IS NORMAL, BUT I HAVE STARTED TO LOSE MY HAIR, WHAT SHALL I DO?

A  Use Profol Shampoo and Profol Lotion daily.  These will quickly help stem your hair loss and prevent it from getting worse. 

Q  DO PROFOL TREATMENTS WEAKEN WITH AGE?

A  No!  Profol products have an indefinite shelf life.  However, they do darken with age, eventually turning slightly brown or almost black .  This colour change does not effect the restorative qualities of the treatment.  It may also be noticed that when cold, Profol Shampoo becomes thicker and also white in colour.  It will return to normal colour and consistency in normal temperatures.

Q I HAVE A GREASY SCALP WITH DANDRUFF. WHAT SHOULD I USE?

A Profol Shampoo used daily will quickly get the problem under control. Continued use will prevent the problem recurring.

Q MY SCALP IS NEITHER DRY OR GREASY, BUT I HAVE DANDRUFF. WHAT SHOULD I USE?

A Scalp Clear Treatment Shampoo will quickly and effectively control your problem, whilst leaving your hair in excellent condition.

Q I HAVE A DRY SCALP WITH DANDRUFF. WHAT SHOULD I USE?

A Scalp Clear Treatment Shampoo will control the dandruff whilst gently moisturising your scalp.

Q MY SCALP IS DRY, ITCHY, FLAKING AND SORE.  WHAT SHOULD I USE?

A  Scalp Clear Treatment Shampoo will quickly alleviate the symptoms.  Daily use is recommended until the condition stabilizes. Continued use will keep the problem at bay.

Q  I HAVE A VERY DRY, ITCHY, FLAKING AND SORE SCALP COUPLED WITH HEAVY HAIR LOSS.  WHAT TREATMENT DO YOU RECOMMEND?

A  Scalp Clear Treatment Shampoo used daily will quickly settle your scalp flaking and irritation.  Follow this by applying Profol Lotion twice daily to damp scalp. This will help control excessive hair loss and start to build a healthy scalp.

Q  CAN I STOP USING YOUR TREATMENTS ONCE MY HAIR AND SCALP PROBLEMS HAVE CLEARED UP?

A  Continued use is always advisable to avoid the possibility of your hair and scalp problem starting again.

Q  IS SCALP CLEAR TREATMENT NATURAL?

A  Yes, it is organic and made from plant extracts

Q  ARE PROFOL TREATMENTS SAFE TO USE ON PERMED OR TINTED HAIR?

A  Yes, they will improve the condition by not removing the hair's natural protective acid mantle, even when used daily

Q  I AM ON MEDICATION FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE AND A HEART CONDITION, IS PROFOL SAFE TO USE?

A  Profol should be perfectly safe to use regardless of your general health and any medication that you may be taking.  This is because Profol is completely natural and contains no drugs. It encourages new growth naturally, just the way nature intended. However, we would always advise you to consult your doctor before use.

Q CAN I USE A CONDITIONER WITH PROFOL TREATMENTS.

Q WHY ARE THE BOTTLES NEVER QUITE FULL?

A  The amount stated on the label is always the minimum content.  However, the bottle is always larger to allow for expansion and foaming during filling.
